PayPal Pigskins Take Over the 40/40 Club PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 27 August 2010 02:02

Hi everybody, Sam Shrauger here, VP of Global Product Strategy. On Wednesday night, I was joined by ESPN football analyst and former running back for the Steelers and Bears, Merril Hoge as the “PayPal Pigskins” took over Jay-Z’s 40/40 club in NYC to celebrate our love for sports. In addition to watching the game and mingling over food and beer, we showcased the many ways PayPal is changing the way you pay – from managing your fantasy football league to buying tickets online.

Throughout the night, attendees were encouraged to use our mobile devices and iPads to “bump” waitresses for beer and wings, seeing firsthand how easy it is to use PayPal offline. The night was certainly a hit — Merril signed footballs, people were “bumping” to send money, chatting about fantasy football picks and more.

From mobile commerce to digital goods, “on-demand” availability is driving today’s lifestyle expectations and purchasing behavior.Whether you’re hosting your buddies for the big game of the season or throwing a tailgate, purchasing tickets or taking collection to buy your league’s fantasy football winner a trophy, PayPal is here to help.

Check out NY1’s footage from the event and tell us what you think!
